Shanghai has officially laid claim to the ultimate brick-built playground with the grand opening of LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort, now the largest LEGOLAND park in the world.
Located in Fengjing Town, Jinshan District, the 318,000sqm resort opened its gates on 5 July, becoming China’s first LEGOLAND and offering more than 75 interactive rides, shows, and attractions across eight immersive zones – all brought to life by a whopping 85 million LEGO bricks.
From LEGO NINJAGO to LEGO Friends, boat tours through miniature Shanghai, and a record-breaking LEGO minifigure, the park blends international design with distinct Chinese flair. Themed lands such as BRICKTOPIA and the dragon-packed LEGO Castle deliver plenty of thrills, while LEGO CITY lets young guests earn their very first “driver’s licence”.
To mark the milestone, the park is hosting a week-long Grand Opening celebration until 13 July. Visitors can expect character meet-and-greets, themed shows, minifigure swaps, and exclusive merch drops.

The resort also includes Asia’s largest BIG Shop, LEGO-shaped ice creams, and a themed hotel with bedtime surprises and pyjama dance parties. Just don’t forget your bricks.
