Tourist code of conduct released nationwide in Vietnam

Accordingly, international and local tourists, tour operators and locals at tourism spots should respect local customs and culture, abide by regulations at both tourist and public sights, provide help for the disabled, the elderly, children and women, and protect the environment.

Guests are also prohibited from any action(s) that could interfere with cultural and historical relics and are urged not to waste food and beverages.

The code of conduct aims to improve the image of Vietnamese tourists and promote Viet Nam as a safe and hospitable destination.

Earlier, in January, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism also released a code of conduct for domestic and foreign tourists in an effort to improve the reputation of the city.

Last year, similar rules were released in several other localities, including Da Nang and Nha Trang. The capital city of Ha Noi and Hoi An City in the central province of Quang Nam have also released codes of conduct.
