With 10 hotels already open or under development in Indonesia, the Plateno Group has unveiled plans to speed up its expansion in Indonesia with a target of opening or signing 50 hotels in the country by end-2016.
Plateno will focus on its budget brands in Indonesia such as 7 Days Inn, 7 Days Premium, and Pi Hotel.
Currently the hotels operating in Indonesia include 7 Days Premium Kuta Bali, Zmax D Hotel Praya Lombok and The Mirah Bogor which is in the process of being rebranded to James Joyce Coffetel & 7 Days Premium.
The expansion means that Indonesia will become the second largest market for Plateno after China.
More than 2.5 million Chinese visitors are expected to travel to Indonesia in 2016.
