Minor Hotels will introduce its Avani brand to Sabah with the opening of Avani Kota Kinabalu, a 352-key hotel slated to open 1Q 2027.
Located around 10 minutes from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, the new property will form part of The Logg Luyang, an integrated development by KTI Landmark housing hospitality, commercial and lifestyle tenants in the city’s centre.
“Kota Kinabalu is evolving rapidly as a regional business and tourism hub, creating strong demand for a hotel that can move easily between corporate, leisure and social use,” said Winston Gong, GM of Avani Kota Kinabalu.
“Our focus will be on delivering an efficient, locally relevant guest experience while building a property with genuine appeal to the city’s residents.”
The hotel will offer five dining and social venues, including an all-day dining restaurant serving Sabahan, Malaysian, Korean and international cuisine, a contemporary Chinese restaurant, a lobby lounge, The Pantry for baked goods and coffee, alongside the rooftop SEEN Restaurant & Bar.
Apart from an infinity pool and gym, guests can opt to head to the nearby Tun Fuad Stephens Park offering access to outdoor recreation. Meetings and banquet facilities are also available.
