Meliá Hotels International adds four hotels to Vietnam pipeline

Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International has signed four new properties in Vietnam that will mark the company’s entry into Ho Chi Minh financial city and Halong tourist bay.

These hotels will also increase the group’s property portfolio in Vietnam to 10 under the Innide by Meliá and Meliá Hotels & Resorts brands. They will join the group’s existing Vietnamese hotel resorts Meliá Danang, Meliá Hanoi and Sol Beach House Phu Quoc. The three hotels opening in Ho Chi Minh’s District 1 will be near Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Meliá Saigon Central

The current Amena Residence and Suites will begin operating under the Meliá brand starting in March 2018. The renovation and rebranding of the hotel into the Meliá Saigon Central will be complete in 2019. The Saigon riverfront hotel will have 75 guestrooms once the first phase of development is complete, and 159 once the entire project is complete. The property is near the Saigon Opera House, Reunification Palace, Saigon Central Post Office, Saigon Basilica and all major tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City.

Innside Saigon Central and Innside Saigon Mariamman

The 72-room Innside Saigon Central is slated to open in 2018 after the rebranding of the current Amena Suite Hotel Ton That Dam. The 115-room Innside Saigon Mariamman will open next to the Saigon Central hotel in 2020 following the renovation of the current Lavender Boutique hotel. Both properties are in the center of the city’s economic zone near markets, nightlife and shopping malls.

Innside Halong

Meliá’s first hotel in Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be the Innside Halong. The 251-room hotel opening in 2019 will be near new tourist attractions in the area, including the Dragon Park theme park.
