Marriott International has signed an agreement with KS Hotels and Resorts for two properties at Matalay, a 200-hectare development on the Khao Lak coast in Thailand.

Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach and Matalay Khao Lak, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy will be located at Memories Beach at the northern end of the development. The latter is expected to mark the Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy brand’s debut in Thailand.

Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach, which will be the Moxy brand’s first property in southern Thailand, is expected to have 160 rooms surrounding a pool. Facilities will include a restaurant, pool and beach bars, gym and beachfront events lawn.

Matalay Khao Lak, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy is planned with 60 two-bedroom apartments, each measuring 110m² and equipped with a kitchen and washer-dryer. The property will cater to families, digital nomads and longer-stay guests.

Matalay will feature 1.4km of beachfront, with activities including surfing, kayaking and wellness experiences. A 3km jogging and cycling track through forests and around lakes will connect the development with the existing JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa.

Both new properties will be about 75 minutes by road from Phuket International Airport.
