Marriott signs seven-hotel deal with FICO Corporation across Thailand

Marriott and FICO Corporation have signed seven hotels with 1,262 rooms across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, including three Marriott brand debuts in Thailand.

Marriott International has signed an agreement with FICO Corporation for seven hotels across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, adding 1,262 rooms to the Marriott Thailand expansion. The deal will also bring citizenM, Four Points Flex by Sheraton and Series by Marriott to Thailand for the first time.

The agreement expands an existing relationship between the two companies. It also includes a new JW Marriott property in Bangkok and strengthens Marriott’s presence across both urban and resort destinations.

Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, said:

“We are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with FICO Corporation through this significant expansion in Thailand. This growing portfolio reflects a shared vision for the future of hospitality – one that embraces evolving traveler preferences, distinctive lifestyle experiences and destinations designed for holistic wellbeing and meaningful connection. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with FICO to bring this vision to life across Thailand’s dynamic urban and leisure destinations,” said Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International.

Five new hotels planned for Bangkok

The largest property in the agreement will be JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn, with 288 rooms. The hotel is expected to combine luxury hospitality with sports, fitness and wellbeing facilities.

It will also feature a lifestyle hub designed to create spaces for guests to relax and connect while staying in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, the 147-room citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 will introduce the citizenM brand to Thailand. The hotel is expected to combine technology, contemporary design, guest service and a food and beverage venue in the Sukhumvit district.

Three Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties will also open in Bangkok, marking another brand debut for the country.

Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 8 will offer 162 rooms, while Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Sukhumvit 14 will have 130 rooms. In addition, the heritage-focused Four Points Flex by Sheraton Bangkok Surawong will add 201 rooms.

All three properties will sit close to Bangkok’s BTS Skytrain network. The brand focuses on straightforward stays built around reliability, efficiency and value.

Series by Marriott enters Pattaya and Phuket

The Marriott Thailand expansion will also extend to two of the country’s leading resort destinations through Series by Marriott.

The new collection brand will make its Thai debut with the 192-room Easy Planet North Pattaya, Series by Marriott. A second property, Easy Planet Phuket Patong, Series by Marriott, will feature 142 rooms.

Series by Marriott is designed around approachable stays that retain elements of each destination’s individual character. At the same time, the brand aims to offer travellers the consistency associated with Marriott’s wider portfolio.

Krit Srichawla, Chairman, FICO Corporation, commented:

“For me, hospitality has always been about more than simply providing a place to stay. It is about creating places where people feel good, connect with others and enjoy how they spend their time. As we look ahead, I believe wellness, sports and lifestyle will play an increasingly important role in how people travel and live. This expansion gives us the opportunity to bring that thinking into our hospitality portfolio and create experiences that are relevant not only to our guests, but also to the communities around us. We are excited to continue this journey with Marriott International and to build something meaningful together in Thailand,” commented Krit Srichawla, Chairman, FICO Corporation.

Partnership grows to 11 hotels across eight brands

The agreement builds on four Marriott and FICO hotels already operating in Bangkok. These are Hotel Muse Bangkok, Autograph Collection, Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok Townhall Sukhumvit, Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit and Metropole Bangkok, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.

Once the seven newly signed properties join the portfolio, the collaboration will span 11 hotels across eight brands. It will also include three brands entering Thailand for the first time.

Overall, the Marriott Thailand expansion adds a mix of luxury, lifestyle, select-service and collection brands across Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. The agreement also deepens Marriott and FICO Corporation’s existing partnership in one of Southeast Asia’s major hospitality markets.
