Hilton has announced the signing of Hilton Takayama Resort, its first property in Japan’s Gifu Prefecture, in partnership with Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central), JR Tokai Real Estate Co., Ltd., and JR Tokai Hotels Co., Ltd.

Currently operating as Hotel Associa Takayama Resort, the property will be rebranded under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand and continue to be operated by JR Tokai Hotels Co., Ltd. The new Hilton Takayama Resort is expected to open in autumn 2026.

The 283-room hotel will undergo extensive renovations led by Hashimoto Yukio Design Studio, inspired by the theme “Art of Mountain Folk”. The concept draws from the traditional crafts and nature of the Hida Takayama and Alps regions.

The hotel will offer 283 rooms, including existing 70sqm suites and new 90sqm suites, designed to reflect Takayama’s natural beauty and craftsmanship.
