Colliers International has published a survey of the hotel sector at Q1 of 2017.
The highlights of this report:
- Q1 2017 saw six new hotels begin operation in Bali in the form of four 4-star hotels and two 5-star hotels.
- Q1 2017 hotel openings added 495 4-star hotel rooms in 4 properties and 448 5-star hotel room in 3 properties come on stream.
- There are now 22,034 4-star hotels rooms operating in Bali spread across 180 hotels.
- The current supply of 5-star hotel rooms now stands at 19.038 rooms in 122 hotels.
- Bali will add an additional 1,144 new 4-star rooms and 312 new 5-star rooms in the remainder of 2017.
- Total 4-star projects now under construction or in development equals 18 properties with a total room inventory of 3,060.
- Total 5-star room projects now under construction or in development equals 13 properties with a total room inventory of 2,033.
- Two new budget hotels are now under construction constituting 210 more rooms to soon come on line.
- The report shows average occupancies and average daily rates are under threat in Bali, with length of stays periods also becoming shorter.
