Atmosphere Core will open ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru in March 2027, introducing a 118-villa island resort with dining, wellness and adventure experiences in Kaafu Atoll.
Atmosphere Core has signed its tenth resort in the Maldives, with ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru An Atmosphere Hotel scheduled to open in March 2027. The ONE BANYAN Maldives debut will introduce a 118-villa island retreat in Kaafu Atoll.
The property will operate within the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand under the An Atmosphere Hotel sub-brand. It will also become the first resort in the ONE BANYAN series of co-branded island properties.
The concept allows individual resorts to retain their own identity while operating within the wider Atmosphere portfolio. ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru will become the ninth resort worldwide within the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand.

New resort planned for Kaafu Atoll
ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru will be located in Kaafu Atoll. Guests will reach the island by a 45-minute speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport.
The name Amaraa Faru draws on two cultural references. “Amaraa” draws on the Sanskrit word for eternity or immortality. “Faru” means reef in Dhivehi. The resort will offer the Holiday Plan associated with Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts. It will include dining, wellness, snorkelling and other tropical activities.
The ONE BANYAN Maldives concept is designed around flexibility rather than formal luxury. The company is positioning the property for travellers seeking experiences connected with the destination.
118 beach and overwater villas
The resort will feature 118 beach and overwater villas. Standard beach villas will start at 100 sq m.
Family beach villas will offer up to 164 sq m. Overwater villas will measure 117 sq m and feature private pools. The design will take inspiration from the surrounding marine environment and traditional palm-leaf craftsmanship. Natural materials and locally influenced textures will feature throughout the property. Art Deco elements and eco-conscious finishes will complement a palette of crème and soft green tones. Indoor and outdoor spaces will also connect the accommodation with the island setting.
Dining, wellness and leisure facilities
An all-day dining restaurant will anchor the resort’s food and beverage offer. A main pool bar will provide another social space. Three speciality restaurants will complete the dining collection. Concepts will include Argentinian cuisine and an overwater Japanese restaurant.
Additional facilities will include a large kids’ club and an ocean-view gym and fitness centre. The resort will also have a dive and water sports centre and a promenade-style retail area.
ELE|NA Ayur will operate the spa and wellness centre. Facilities will include overwater treatment rooms and a 40 sq m saltwater pool.
The wellness offer will also feature sauna and steam facilities.
Technology and sustainability shape the guest experience
Technology will form part of the guest journey throughout the resort. Atmosphere Core plans to combine digital solutions with a relaxed service style.
The development will also incorporate solar energy solutions and water conservation systems. A no-plastics approach will include in-house glass water bottling. These initiatives form part of Atmosphere Core’s wider sustainability approach across its portfolio.
The ONE BANYAN Maldives opening will mark another stage in the company’s expansion. Atmosphere Core was founded in 2013 and currently operates nine resorts in the Maldives across three brands.
The company also has two developments in the pipeline, including ONE BANYAN Amaraa Faru and an Atmosphere Hotel. Beyond the Maldives, it has a heritage hotel open in India and another in Italy. Atmosphere Core is also planning more than 20 additional properties across Europe and South Asia.
