Osaka will be the fifth destination in Japan to boast a Four Seasons hotel, adding to the existing Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, and Four Seasons Resort Okinawa due to launch in 2023.

The upcoming Four Seasons Hotel Osaka, due to open in 2024, will be located in the city’s mixed-use One Dojima Project.

The project is a collaboration between Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, real estate company Tokyo Tatemono and Singapore-based Hotel Properties Limited, to create “a new luxury lifestyle destination in Osaka,” said John Davison, president and CEO of the Four Seasons hotel management brand.

Construction started August last year, and when finished, will stand at 195m high, 49 stories tall, covering an area of approximately 85,000sqm. The space will also house residences by Brillia, a meeting hall that serves as a base for tourism and business.

Renowned names have been roped in to design the 175-key Four Seasons Hotel Osaka, including French designer Gwenael Nicolas of Curiosity, Shinichiro Ogata of SIMPLICITY and Yasuhiro Koichi of Design Studio Spin.

Architectural firm Nikken Sekkei — behind the likes of Narita International Airport Terminal 3 and Singapore’s The Rail Corridor — has been appointed to design the entire building.
