The Conrad Nagoya opening marks Hilton’s luxury debut in the city, introducing 170 rooms, six dining venues and new hospitality experiences in Sakae.
The Conrad Nagoya opening marks the debut of Hilton’s luxury brand Conrad Hotels & Resorts in Nagoya, Japan, with the new hotel bringing 170 guestrooms, six restaurants and bars, wellness facilities and event spaces to the city’s Sakae district.
Opened by Hilton in partnership with Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., Conrad Nagoya is located within The Landmark Nagoya Sakae, the tallest skyscraper in the Sakae area. The hotel occupies the upper floors of the development and connects directly with Sakae Station.
Luxury hospitality in central Nagoya
The new property strengthens Hilton’s presence in Japan and expands the global Conrad Hotels & Resorts portfolio, which now includes 51 hotels across five continents with additional developments underway.
Nagoya is recognised as one of Japan’s key economic centres, with a strong manufacturing sector alongside a growing tourism profile supported by culinary traditions, craftsmanship and cultural attractions.
Conrad Nagoya provides access to major landmarks including Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Shrine. The hotel also serves as a gateway to destinations across Central Japan, including Ise and Takayama.
Design inspired by the city’s character
The hotel features 170 guestrooms, including 29 suites, with each room measuring more than 50 square metres. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide views across the Nagoya skyline.
The design concept draws inspiration from the energy of the Sakae district. Guestrooms include bespoke metal artwork representing the movement of people, light and the rhythm of the city.
The Conrad Suite on the 40th floor covers 213 square metres and combines panoramic views with a residential-style design.
Dining and wellness facilities
Conrad Nagoya offers six restaurants and bars across the 31st and 40th floors, highlighting culinary traditions from the Tokai region while combining Japanese and international influences.
The dining portfolio includes SUNDROP, a lobby lounge and bar offering afternoon tea, cocktails and international cuisine; CASA OLIVA, featuring Italian cuisine and a wine selection of more than 100 labels; and SONGBIRD, serving coffee, pastries and seasonal desserts.
On the 40th floor, SORYU offers a contemporary sushi kaiseki experience, while SOEN focuses on teppan kaiseki cuisine. HOUSE OF MON completes the collection with a rooftop bar overlooking the city skyline.
The wellness facilities include Conrad Spa with four treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool, sauna facilities and a 24-hour fitness centre.
New venue for business events
Conrad Nagoya also includes meeting and event facilities across the 10th and 11th floors. The Grand Ballroom provides 342 square metres of flexible event space with an eight-metre-high ceiling.
The Akari meeting spaces offer adaptable configurations and can be divided into four separate rooms. The facilities cater to corporate meetings, social events, and celebrations, supported by audiovisual technology and an events team.
Local experiences and future expansion
Through Conrad’s 1/3/5 programme, guests can explore Nagoya through curated experiences based on one-hour, three-hour and five-hour itineraries.
The experiences include activities connected with local culture and craftsmanship, such as cocktail-making sessions, traditional tea ceremonies, craft beer discoveries, miso-making workshops and introductions to Arimatsu Shibori, a 400-year-old Japanese tie-dyeing tradition.
Joseph Khairallah, Area Vice President, Head of Japan, Korea and Micronesia at Hilton, said: “The opening of Conrad Nagoya, in partnership with our valued owner, Mitsubishi Estate, marks an important milestone for Hilton. Nagoya has played a significant role in our history since the opening of Hilton Nagoya in 1989. The debut of Conrad Nagoya further reinforces our commitment to this vibrant destination, and we look forward to delivering memorable experiences for guests from Japan and across the globe.”
The opening of Conrad Nagoya follows Hilton’s continued expansion of its luxury portfolio in Japan, with future Conrad Hotels & Resorts properties planned in Yokohama and Kobe.
