Six Senses Krabey Island has flung open the doors of its 40 private pool villas to welcome its first guests.

Originally planned for a December opening, the landscaped 30-acre private island is located three miles off Ream National Park in the Gulf of Thailand in southern Cambodia.

According to analysts at industry consulting partner Lodging Econometrics (LE), China’s hotel construction pipeline remains strong with record-breaking figures. In a recent report, it has stated that the country’s hotel construction pipeline stands at 2,761 projects/580,635 rooms — up 12% by projects and 6% by rooms year-over-year (YOY).

More Philippine tourism spots up for rehabilitation

As more Philippine tourist destinations are being looked into for rehabilitation, the Philippine Department of Tourism is urging local operators to comply with laws related to sustainable development, while assuring destinations will not face complete shut-down, unlike the case of Boracay’s clean-up last year.

“Rehabilitation is not exactly closure,” tourism secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat emphasised while disclosing that Panglao in Bohol and El Nido in Palawan are currently being rehabilitated.

Tokyo has been the named the top Asian city for offering the ultimate combination of business and leisure, or “bleisure”, appeal for travellers, according to a new report.
