The Ministry of Finance in Hanoi (MOF) just revealed some proposed contents of the long-waiting casino business decree (Casino Decree).

Only 02 casinos are open to Vietnamese individuals on a 3-year piloting scheme, which are located within complex resorts in Phu Quoc District, Kien Giang Province (South Vietnam) and Van Don District, Quang Ninh Province (North Vietnam).

BANGKOK – Asia’s booming tourism industry, a key force driving the region’s economies, has triggered calls for governments to boost investments in vital infrastructure to ensure the industry remains sustainable.

Savills has reported that Ho Chi Minh City will see 16 new hotel projects from 2017 to 2019 supplying approximately 3,500 rooms.

More than 700 rooms from five existing three- to four-star hotels are also awaiting ratings approval.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, one three-star hotel completed renovations and five new three-star hotels supplied more than 440 rooms. “Ho Chi Minh City’s hotel stock was more than 15,900 rooms from 130 projects, up 3% quarter-on-quarter and 8% year-on-year,” the report stated.
