Mark Scown
was Director of Engineering
at Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, Bali

“After completing a contract in Fiji, I received an email from Dietrich at Global Expat enquiring if I would be interested in a DOE position located in Bali, rather curious as to how and why I was contacted I replied to Dietrich who informed me he had heard of me via an ex employee of mine from Laucala Island Fiji and would like to receive my C.V. which in return I forwarded.

Later another email came explaining the position on offer in great detail however at the time I was looking to move back into construction rather than hospitality and not in any particular hurry to do so. Over the following few months Dietrich kept in contact.

At this time the economic crisis had hit, causing the investors of a resort project I was expecting to commence withdrawal and very few high end projects which were on offer advancing in the immediate future, hence I contacted Dietrich in relation to the position put forward by Global Expat.

Dietrich was extremely professional, informing me of the current status of the position and arranged an initial telephone interview with the Director of HR of the resort. Dietrich followed up on the interview and noted my concerns and salary expectations where upon Global Expat negotiated a package where both parties were in agreement.

Although the process was drawn out from the resort side, Dietrich followed up all of my concerns and relayed updates pertaining to the status of my application as these occurred. When a contract was issued and the date to relocate fast approaching, Global Expat assisted with recommendations of real-estate agents, car hire and areas appropriate to reside in relation to the resort location and security.

Due to the persistence and professionalism of Global Expat I have not only had the fortune of living in Bali and working with arguably the number one International hotel chain and management company, it has allowed myself to complete the final step required to be positioned as a consultant for several 5 star resorts in the areas of project management, defecting, due diligence and utilities conservation.

In closing, without hesitation I recommend Global Expat as an employment agent for those seeking employment, especially for expatriates as from my experience they will ensure all your bases are covered.”
