Roland Svensson named General Manager of Amiana on the Bay

Roland Svensson has been named General Manager of stunning Vietnam resort, Amiana on the Bay, lapping the waters of Nha Trang Bay.

Mr Svensson has a wealth of hotel and resort experience, having worked in a number of international properties, commencing with senior Food & Beverage appointments in Dubai, Macau, Bangkok, Penang, Hong Kong and Queensland, where he was Director of Food & Beverage at Radisson Royal Palms Port Douglas for the opening in 1989 through to 1990.

He went on to be General Manager with Myanmar’s Novotel Mandalay and Thailand’s Royal Garden Resort Hua Hin and The Montien Hotel Bangkok, prior to moving to Saudi Arabia’s Le Jeddah Meridien as General Manager.

In 2006, Mr Svensson was appointed Assistant Vice-President Hospitality with Laguna Phuket before taking on the role of Country Manager Thailand with GlenAsia Resorts + Residences in 2007.

Mr Svensson joined Möevenpick Hotels & Resorts from 2010 in key General Manager appointments at Thailand’s Möevenpick Resort & Spa Mae Nam Beach, Koh Samui, and Möevenpick Suriwongse Hotel, Chiang Mai and Singapore’s Möevenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa.

He returned to Thailand in early 2014 as General Manager of The Sarojin, Khao Lak before moving to Vietnam as General Manager of Vinpearl Nha Trang Bay Resort in late 2015.

Amiana on the Bay features 113 spacious rooms and villas – all with garden or ocean views and a private terrace or balcony.

At the heart of the resort is a 2500 square metre natural seawater pool plus a 700 square metre freshwater infinity pool and private, guest-only lagoon beach with soft, white sand.

Bacaro restaurant serves modern international cuisine, fresh seafood and excellent traditional Vietnamese food plus tropical cocktails and a selection of wines which can be enjoyed at the three cool bars.

Amiana Spa offers the only luxury private mud bath with an ocean view in Nha Trang, together with a variety of sensual, soothing and rejuvenating massage treatments.

Amiana on the Bay offers extensive meeting facilities with two ballrooms each accommodating up to 220 people.

In addition to his role with Amiana on the Bay, Mr Svensson is a member of the Board of Directors for Nha Trang Destination Marketing Organisation in charge of sales activities.
