Marriott to open world’s largest branded residences development in Vietnam

Marriott International has announced what it is referring to as “the largest hotel-branded residential project announced to date worldwide”, located in the Vietnamese hub of Ho Chi Minh City.

The project is slated to open in late 2024, and will feature nearly 4,200 residential and “officetel” units across the group’s JW Marriott and Marriott Hotels brands.

Bright start to 2021 for Sanya tourism

Building on its strong recovery momentum of 2020, Sanya, a resort city in south China’s Hainan province, is seeing its tourism sector get off to a promising start as it ushers in the new year.

Between January 1-3 of 2021, Sanya received 407,400 tourists for the New Year holiday, ringing up RMB$964 million (US$149.1 million) in revenue, according to a press release by Sanya Tourism Promotion Board.

New World Hotels & Resorts has been appointed by KDI Holdings to manage the 306-room New World Nha Trang Hotel, slated to open in 2023.

Hilton targets 600 Hampton hotels in China by 2034

Hilton and Jin Jiang International has extended the Hampton by Hilton management license agreement, with the goal of operating more than 600 hotels under the brand in China by 2034.

The exclusive license agreement between Hilton and Plateno, which has since been acquired by Jin Jiang, was first signed in 2014 to tap into the potential of China’s mid-scale hotel market.
