More hotel supply continues to be pumped into Asia Pacific

Hotel construction boom in Asia Pacific has no signs of abating, as 27% more hotel rooms are expected to open doors soon compared to the same period last year, according to data by STR.

The London-headquartered hotel research company found that there are 2,109 hotel projects currently being built across the Asia-Pacific region as of July, accounting for 470,650 rooms.

Five countries reported more than 20,000 rooms under construction.

Pan Pacific to open Parkroyal serviced residence in Hanoi

Singapore-headquartered Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) is bringing its first serviced suite product into Vietnam, with the opening of Parkroyal Serviced Suites Hanoi in 2020.

This marks the debut of the group’s Parkroyal brand in Hanoi, where it already operates the Pan Pacific Hanoi. With this latest addition, the number of PPHG’s properties in Vietnam will total three, including the Parkroyal Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City.

Clifftop at Uluwatu, The Clubhouse at Ulu is a collection of seven individually-appointed suites, each named after the seven legendary surf breaks that surround the property, including Padang Padang, Impossibles and Racetracks.

Hilton continues rapid expansion in Asia-Pacific

Hilton reached the mid-year point of 2019 having signed 120 new hotels in Asia Pacific, taking its total estate to 845 hotels open and under development across the region. Major power outage hit hotels, F&B businesses in Jakarta and surrounds

A massive power outage that struck Greater Jakarta and West Java last Sunday affected businesses in the hotel and F&B industries across the two provinces. The blackout, which lasted between five to 12 hours, was said to be the worst of its kind since 1997.
